Ngaatendwe Kodogo is a sophomore at Yale University from Harare, Zimbabwe. He is majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Political Science with a certificate in Global Health. He will be serving in the upcoming year as Director General for Committees. He brings experience in MUN and MAU, being a previous delegate of YMAU II. Beyond his YMAU role on campus he is involved with afrocentric groups such as the Yale African Students Association (YASA) and Yale African Innovation Symposium (YAIS). Ngaatendwe is also an active member of recreational tennis team on campus, the Christian Union, the Political Union ,the Haven Free Clinic and the Cardiovascular Research Centre. Although on the pre-med track, Ngaatendwe is deeply passionate about policymaking and diplomacy, particularly in bridging the gap between biomedical innovation and equitable access.

Meti Negewo is a sophomore in Ezra Stiles College, majoring in Global Affairs and Anthropology, with a Certificate in Education Studies. Originally from Ethiopia and now based in Minnesota, she serves as the Co-Under-Secretary-General of Marketing and Branding for YMAU V, where she collaborates on curating the conference’s digital presence and outreach. She will also chair the Specialized Technical Committee for the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) in Ghana. Beyond YMAU, Meti is the Head Choreographer of Yale’s Ethiopian and Eritrean Dance Team, Desta, preserving and sharing her culture through performance. She also serves as Publicity Chair for the Yale African Students Association and Co-Executive Officer of Marketing, Design, and Branding for the Yale African Innovation Symposium IV. Meti joined YMAU to merge her passion for global education access, African development through policy, and human rights. She believes youth empowerment is the key to Africa’s long-term success, so she is excited to contribute to a team that centers youth, training them for diplomacy and innovation. Gabrielle Nartey is a sophomore at Yale University majoring in Neuroscience on the pre-med track. A Ghanaian native, Gabrielle spent her formative years in Ghana before moving to the United States to pursue her college education. Beyond YMAU, Gabrielle is passionate about creating a community in shared identity and hence acts as Co- Vice President of Dzana, Yale's first and only afro-fusion dance team, and Community Outreach Chair of the Yale African Students Association. At Yale's Afro-American Cultural Center, Gabrielle is a member of the Generalist Team, where she organizes events for the Black Community at Yale. Gabrielle joined YMAU because she believes that knowledge and education give young people the armor to take ownership of their stories and to make meaningful change, and she wants help empower the youth, as she herself was once empowered, to believe in their own abilities to create actionable change.

Abyssinia Haile is a sophomore in Pauli Murray College at Yale University, double-majoring in Global Affairs and African Studies. Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Aby spent her early years in Boston before moving to western Massachusetts at age 10.
At YMAU IV in Nairobi, Kenya, Aby served as Co-Under-Secretary-General and chaired the Education, Technology, and Innovation Committee. She is now excited to return to the Secretariat as Director-General of Internal Operations, where she leads sponsorship outreach as well as branding and communications for the conference.
Beyond YMAU, Aby is President of Desta, Yale’s Ethiopian and Eritrean Dance Team, and channels her passion for digital media into several campus organizations. She serves as communications lead for YEESA (Yale Ethiopian and Eritrean Student Association), The Politic (Yale’s Undergraduate Political Journal), and the Yale Africa Innovation Symposium. At Yale’s Afro-American Cultural Center, she is a member of the Podcast Team, helping develop and curate episodes for the center’s Spotify series.

Caleb Prempeh is a senior in Pierson College, pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience. From Elizabeth, New Jersey, Caleb is also a part of the Ghanian diaspora. Outside of YMAU, Caleb enjoys exploring the intersections of science, culture, and community care. As a Community Mental Health Fellow, Caleb has researched opioid use disorder and pain disparities while deepening his understanding of equitable clinical practice. Through the HAVEN Free Clinic, Caleb connects New Haven patients with vital social resources, promoting compassionate and community-based care as a Social Services volunteer. His work with the Afro-American Cultural Center and the Black Student Alliance at Yale has strengthened his commitment to fostering belonging and uplifting marginalized voices. As former President of Dzana Dance, Caleb also led a team of dancers in celebrating African diasporic artistry. Additionally, Caleb has helped to make neuroscience research accessible to undergraduates as Research Chair for YNeuro. Caleb joined YMAU as a Co-USG of Marketing and Branding to creatively represent the organization’s mission, and he is especially excited to welcome delegates. Gumana Elrufai is a first-year student in Ezra Stiles College, and she intends to major in global affairs. She was born in Khartoum, Sudan, and was raised in Brooklyn, New York, amongst a large Sudanese community. She is the Co-USG of Delegate recruitment on the YMAU V team. She is excited to work with the YMAU team to create the best possible experience for delegates and foster ideals of Pan-Africanism across the continent. Outside of classes and YMAU, Gumana is the founder and leader of The Voice of Sudan, a NYC-based youth group bringing awareness to the ongoing civil war occurring in the country. She is also a member of the Yale Step Team called Yale Stepping Out. She is looking forward to working with all of you. Amin Abdellatif is a sophomore in Saybrook college studying Global Affairs with a certificate in Human Rights. He spent the majority of his life living in Khartoum, Sudan, before moving to the U.S for college. At YMAU V, he will serve as the Under-Secretary General of Committees. Amin's interest in YMAU stems from his passion for African development. Having grown up in Sudan during a series of political revolutions, he's witnessed first-hand the capacity for change that African youth posses and is devoted to encouraging the same across the continent. On campus, Amin is heavily involved in cultural and professional initiatives related to the African continent. He served as the Chief of Operations for the Yale Africa Innovation Symposium for the conference's third iteration, is the Social Chair for the Yale African Student's Association and is a World Fellow Liaison at the Jackson School of Global Affairs. Aminata Kamara is a third-year Mechanical Engineering major in Jonathan Edwards College at Yale, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She proudly identifies as Gambian/Sierra Leonean-American.
Returning to the YMAU Secretariat after serving as USG of Recruitment for YMAU IV, Aminata is excited to continue her work as Director General of External Operations for YMAU V. She oversees delegate recruitment and leads the planning of on-the-ground logistics to ensure a smooth and engaging conference experience.
Outside of YMAU, Aminata is Vice President of the Yale chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers and serves on the board of the Black Solidarity Conference. She is passionate about infrastructural development on the African continent and enjoys Double Dutch, drinking tea, exploring new cities, and meeting new people.

Elham Shure is a first-year student at Pauli Murray College at Yale University. She is originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia but moved to Maryland at age eleven. She is a prospective Ethics, Politics, & Economics major hoping to pursue a career in law, and will serve as the USG of Sponsorships and Business. Elham is excited to bring her Model UN experience to YMAU to foster meaningful partnerships and amplify the conference’s impact on delegates. Outside of YMAU, Elham serves as the Youth Justice Project Liaison for Migration Alliance at Yale and as a Project Lead for Yale Undergraduate Legal Aid Association. For her, YMAU presents an opportunity to expand her passion for international dialogue, particularly in advancing African diplomacy, and youth empowerment. Kenda Kenda is a sophomore in Trumbull College at Yale University, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Born and raised in Eldama Ravine, Kenya, she moved to the United States for college and has since dedicated her time at Yale to amplifying African voices and fostering collaboration across disciplines. She will be serving as the Co–Under-Secretary-General of Recruitment for YMAU V. At Yale, Kenda serves on the board of the Yale African Students Association (YASA), contributes to Through The Eyes of She under the Council on African Studies, produces Beyond the Buzzwords(a sustainability initiative by Tsai CITY and CBEY) and leads outreach for the Yale Africa Innovation Symposium (YAIS). Previously, she helped in coordinating national recruitment for the Kenya Scholar Access Program (KenSAP) and supported youth well-being research at the Shamiri Institute. Passionate about connecting people and ideas, Kenda looks forward to meeting everyone in Accra, Ghana, and making YMAU V an unforgettable experience!

Augustin Tanoh is a first-year student at Yale studying Global Affairs and Economics. On campus, Augustin plays for Club Soccer C1, serves as a French Tutor for the French Department, and is an active member of the Yale African Students Association (YASA), the Brazil Club, and the Black Men’s Union (BMU).
Augustin joined the Yale Model African Union (YMAU) to bridge his academic interests with real-world diplomacy. As a Director, Augustin is leading the first-ever French-language committee to make the conference more inclusive for Francophone participants. Augustin was also drawn to YMAU’s collaborative spirit and the chance to debate, negotiate, and create policies to help our magnificent continent.
