Meet the president

YMAU’s leader is dedicated to building and facilitating the conference’s third ever iteration, alongside the rest of the secretariat and is looking forward to meeting all the delegates.

  • Malaika Thiam-Bockman is a senior at Yale studying Ethics, Politics, and Economics as well as Mandarin Chinese. She is Senegalese American and from New York City. Malaika previously served YMAU as Director-General of Operations. She is excited to return as President, striving to cultivate YMAU’s legacy as an enriching, accessible, and inclusive conference. Outside of YMAU, Malaika competes with the Yale Mock Trial Association and dances with Yaledancers. In her free time, Malaika enjoys playing the piano and trying new coffee shops.
